| 2011 - 2012 | News update | After 6 months off the road, Daniel resumes touring with the band in February 2011 throughout the midlands taking in some favourite venues (and visiting old friends) and welcoming the excellent Al Vincent on guitar for this tour. In addition, throughout the first half of 2011, he have a series of function gigs in Scotland and is running tuition and blues/jazz piano workshops from home in Fife, which run all year round (see the tuition section). May and June 2011 see a whole series of tour dates in England in Leics, Worcs and Notts with bookings, private functions and arts council tour dates already provisionally booked for 2012. As always, details in the gigs section! Daniel has put together material for another album, and as and when he has the time and money... Daniel and the Daniel Smith Blues Band send everyone their best wishes and hope to see you at a gig some time in 2011 - 2012! |
| Autumn 2010 | News update | Daniel resumes touring with the band Feb 2011, with gig dates and tours booked well into the year. Check his MySpace site for full gig listings:- www.myspace.com/danielsmithgigs The band will still be promoting their (relatively) new album, Once In A Blue Moon, on these tours. As always, Daniel's available titles are still available via the music page on this website. He's currently starting to write material for another project, hopefully his next (9th) album. Whilst he's taking a break from gigging until Feb, Daniel is still available for tuition and workshops, mainly weekend packages in Scotland. | Spring 2010 | Touring | Daniel would like to express regret at his recently cancelled tours, but also to thank the many venues and fans for their messages of support during his recent illness. However, he is back on the road and hopes to be coming to a venue near you soon promoting his new 'Once In A Blue Moon' album.

| October 2009 | Album News | The band have finished recording the new CD, 'Once In A Blue Moon'. It features, in addition to Daniel on a wonderful Steinway grand piano, Peter Miles on drums, Andy Jones on bass and vocals, Jon Taylor on guitar, Alan Glen on guitar and harmonica and Earl Green on vocals. Mixing takes place soon and it should be available from December. |
| September - December 2009 | Tour Dates | Daniel will be based back in Aberdour (Fife, Scotland) throughout his busy autumn touring schedule. | August 2008 | Tour News | The Daniel Smith Blues Band will be touring extensively in the UK from autumn 2008 into spring 2009, with Cheshire, Scotland, Warwicks, Derbys, Notts, Staffs and Oxon already on the agenda. 2009 itself will see the band's 10th year since its 1999 debut (at The Station Tavern, London) and will also see Daniel's 15th year as a performer on the UK blues circuit. |

Daniel will start recording a new CD this month with George Pearson and Damon Sawyer at Damon's South Hill Park studio in Bracknell. It's acoustic blues and boogie woogie, along with a hotch potch of other new original material. Release date: Christmas 2004. |
